Olivia Cosgrove, Chair of Row the Erne said:

The Big Lunch, supported by Big Lottery Fund, is bringing communities together in a simple act of sharing food and friendship. Earlier this month a Big Lunch took place on Rathlin island as part of their Maritime festival and so with our Big Lunch on Devenish and the thousands of people who enjoyed a Big Lunch in their local areas we have all created a wave of human warming, celebrating community from tip to toe in Northern Ireland.”

“We are very excited about being shortlisted for this prestigious award and hope the picnic Big Lunch will allow the community and our volunteers to share in our joy.”

If the club its successful, Row the Erne will progress to the finals in London this October.

Previous winners and finalists of the prestigious award include the Canoe Trail and The SS Nomadic, a restoration project for one of the tender boats for the Titanic.

The group is supported by: Sport NI, The Big Lottery, Fermanagh Trust, Waterways Ireland, Fermanagh and Omagh District Council and CLEAR.

See Row the Erne for more information on the group. They will be picking up 35 people from Trory jetty, or people can make their own way to Devenish.
